About Me

But you may know me as Jessalyn Jameson, my romance pen name.  Or J. Jameson, my paranormal pen name. 

You may have already read the somewhat professional (professional adjacent?) bio about me on the main page of this website, but if you're curious about the little things that make me who I am, here are a few of them! 

Some quick favorites: 

ooks: The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day, The Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost, and yes, I am a true Twilight Saga nerd, so don't come at me about why you didn't like the books or movies. I will die on this hill, sparkly skin of a killer and all. 

Music: I'm a 'little bit of everything' kind of girl but I am VERY into "Chalk Outlines" by REN at the moment, and if you want to know what songs are on rotation the most, my Intern's Submission playlist on Spotify is basically my soundtrack all the time. As far as anything else goes, if I can shake my groove thing to it, I WILL. You can find me at concerts and music festivals whenever possible. 

Places: New Orleans or Mexico City, though we also spend a lot of time in Baja (I just love Mexico as a whole). 

TV shows: Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and Schitt's Creek. Okay, and probably New Girl, too. And we can't forget Below Deck, VPR (before Scandoval), and Jersey Shore (shhh, don't judge!).

Movies: The Burbs is my forever favorite movie, followed by the greats like Labyrinth, Lost Boys, Goonies, Christmas with the Kranks, Beetlejuice, Dirty Dancing, Best Little Wh*rehouse in Texas, Home Alone... the list is endless. 

Some quick facts:

• y husband and I have been together since 2002, married since 2011. We met at a bar on a Tuesday afternoon, so anyone who says you can't find love in a bar is just trying to ruin your fun. 
• We have just one kiddo: a kind, witty, and beautiful daughter.
• I survive on copious amounts of coffee and water, counting down until it's an appropriate time for champagne. 
• I absolutely love cheese but also want to go back to being vegan... so, yeah, that's a constant battle. 
• San Clemente is home, but I was raised in Mission Viejo. (California forever, goodbye.)
• Twilight got me back into reading, like so many of us, but it also reminded me that I'm a writer. We're going to continue ignoring that massive binder of old poetry until I can bring myself to publish it for fun someday. Maybe. I don't know. Probably not. Anyway, I wrote my first YA novel after devouring The Twilight Saga (which is painfully obvious when you read it, hehe), and I will forever be grateful for that series because it brought me back to my creative soul and I have been writing ever since. 
• I'm a true Sagittarius and a strong Enneagram Type 2. I enjoy life to the fullest and love hard. I am always dreaming of what to do next, where to go next, and how to make a living while travelling the world. (Someday, maybe.)  As a Type 2, I am constantly worrying about the happiness of everyone around me. I'm a lot, and it took me 40 years to be completely okay with that. I'm a hopeless romantic who believes in love above all else, and my bleeding heart is ready to weep over the next well-written commercial at any given moment. (Thank god for streaming services so I don't have to see them anymore.)
